Subject: [CTS] upgrading Instant Messenger

My sister is currently running 5.1 version of Instant Messenger. This
version does not allow the two of us to have a video conversation. It says
her version is too old. BUT, when she tries to install the newer version, It
won't accept her passwords etc.

to get the updated version working should she completely delete the old one
first then install the latest?
She is using window xp.
I hope this makes sense to someone? My brain is out to lunch.
Pam
