[CTS] funky USB error on win7/64

Ok here's a new one.. Client installed windows 7 64 on a system. He had an
camera or whatever hooked to a USB cable. The cable fits several of his
gadgets so he disconnects it and leaves it plugged into the system till he
needs to connect the next gadget.. Works fine and dandy on win7/32bit on the
same PC.. But when he's in 64 bit version he gets an error for 'unconfigured
device' when the cable doesn't have a device attached. Worse yet, he gets
that error about every 15 seconds? Tried removing the device in device
manager.. no go..
I've tried this on my little laptop which also runs win7/64 and I don't get
any errors at all?
Anyone got a clue? Not even sure how to search for a fix for this one?:))
In the morning when I see him I'm going to take his cable and plug it into
my laptop to see if that error pops up, just to be sure it's not the cable
itself...
Thanks
Bruce
