"Depending on age you should also look for swollen capacitors on the motherboard, there are some in recall with Dell, out of warranty or in warranty - for the swollen caps specifically." Repair shop said MB, has a swollen cap. He said it was Optiplex's that were recalled. So if you have any more info to help go after Dell, that would be GREAT! If it works with the HD removed (wont boot but should POST) then you have a bum HD, otherwise try the good power supply substitute. Turn off by holding power button for 15 sec cause a quick push does not work then it turns on. No beeps. I have a 3 page thing from the manual with a 4 light sequance to tell me what is wrong but it has yet to do that for me. Another time the fans just kept getting louder but that was before I relized about the 4 light sequance thing. What ever happened to beeps? Thank you, Eric Vogel Computer Running Slow?
