Linux doesnt really care about which mb you stick under its nose, as long as
it can recognise the chipsets, cpu, mem, bridges etc.
If you install a default kernel from the major distributions, you will be
generally ok if you stick in a new motherboard. If you choose to install a
self-made kernel with stripped down options to save memory space, you might
have a problem.. If you compiled the kernel without PCI support for instance,
and stick in a new PCI board, the pci hardware will not be recognised, unless
you recompile (I found that out the hard way).
In general: Linux doesnt care, as long as it has the device drivers for the
hardware, which is present if you dont fiddle around too much =)
