Hi John,

I would definitely try it. I don't know too much about Linux, but I didn't
know anything about Windows either when I first began computing. It seems to
me that most folks prefer to stay with what they already know, which makes
sense for folks who make their living (at least in part) with a computer.
They simply cannot afford the luxury of having to learn a new OS.

I think the learning curve may be a little steeper with Linux from the
little I've dabbled in it. I would really like to get into it more in the
future, and having a machine pre-configured might just be the kickstart many
people need to "go ahead and take the plunge". I feel fairly certain that if
I had one machine, and it had Linux on it, that I would figure it
out...eventually ;->. BTW,for my curiosity, which distribution would you
recommend for a newbie?
