Yep.  The number of people I run into that thing win2000 is just an
upgrade of win98 is ridiculous.

True.  I hope the DOJ steps in here.  You did here that MS submitted an
offer for a settlement?  It seems they got a bit scared about the
judge's final decision coming out on Tuesday. =)

The printing subsystem is the one (and only) thing I have to complain
about Linux.  I have yet to get my Epson440 to work right, even though
it's supported by ghostscript.  It really comes down to printer vendors
simply not supporting Linux (horray HP for at least starting to do the
Right Thing (tm)), but even given that, the state of printing is
dismal.  On the other hand, my machine at work has an Apple laser
printer hooked up to it, and it prints beautifully, through samba and
all.  But who can afford a laser printer?

Ya, but can you really see MS participating on level ground in a
collaborative effort??  And with Netcape, we're gonna be seeing a
Mozilla/Netscape 5/6 (which is it?!) in about two weeks.
