I walked out of there with over a dozen free CD's, all with Linux on them, a few different dists. No beta, no restrictions, and I didn't have to pay $50. >I was given IE4 to test almost a year before MIcrosoft released it to the >public. And they could afford to do that because it was important to throw money at the Netscape problem. IE CD's were *everywhere* for awhile. If Microsoft had wanted to charge you, say, $20 to beta test it, would you have done it? I doubt it. We would all still be using Netscape right now if Microsoft had tried to do the same thing with their browser software that they regularly do with their OS software. -- Mark ======================================== Avenir Web's Computers Mailing List List Modes, Subscription, and General Info: Go to http://avenir.dhs.org/mailing.html List Archives: http://avenir.dhs.org/archives/ Administrative Contact: weez@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Get computer help: http://avenir.dhs.org ========================================
