You could try fdisking with linux's fdisk and putting the partition back
the way it was.  If he hasn't formatted yet, the data should still be
there.  DO NOT use MS-DOS's fdisk, I don't trust it any further than I can
throw it. :)  I've recovered a couple fs's this way... Good luck. :)
