Yeah, COMP's generally a pretty quiet list, despite being in service for
over 3 years now.  You haven't done anything wrong.  And since digest is
a mode, not a subscription, you don't receive any confirmation of it.  

Btw, I'm the list owner, and I haven't gotten any mail from you...

(Just to confirm: you did send a "set digest" to
computers-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx, right?)
