No. Not for servers.

Depends on how much money you are willing to throw
away, I guess. For a five-user license ...

For example I was looking at the treeware catalog
that arrived today from DELL. You can get an entry-level
blackbox here (US) for only $899 without an operating system.

If you have a fast connect you can download a myriad
of linux distributions for FREE and put them on your
new blackbox, or you could buy a pre-packaged linux
distribution for ~$40. Or you can waste your money on
the following DELL "pre-installed options":

Windows 2000 Server with 5 Client Licenses,4GB Utility Partition [add $799]

MS Windows NT 4.0,Configured as a Member Server [add $799]

MS Windows NT 4.0,Configured as a Primary Domain Controller [add $799]

MS Windows NT 4.0,Configured as a Backup Domain Controller [add $799]

Microsoft Small Business Server 2000 with 5 Client Licenses [add $1299]

(Taken directly from Dell's website)

... Yes, that's $799 JUST FOR THE OPERATING SYSTEM. Almost
as much as you paid for the hardware. You do the math.

Not only that, you have the "client license" thing to deal with.
Linux and/or *BSD have no such restrictions and they are FAR
more robust.

Just because you are familiar with windows does not mean
that it is the best solution. Quite the contrary!

And it's not all about the money. All unices were designed from
the ground up to be multi-user, time-shared systems. They simply
do the server things better. You aren't forced to run a GUI on a
headless box, for example.

HTH,
