Hello, I'm having a hard time installing 95b on my kids 486/66. I dont have
the cd (I borrowed it) I only have the cab files. which I copied onto the
intended hdd with Dos 7.
the hdd is small, an old WD 212m hdd- pio mode 0, I ran wddiag on it and
wrote zeros to it and did a thourogh scandisk on it - it checks our ok. I
have 2 of these hooked up on different ide channels.
when I tried to run setup, it says it cant find a high memory management
something or other.
I have a couple of options, I could copy himem.sys from the dos 6.22 boot
disk?
I could copy emm.386....I'm not sure enough of my dos to know what to do.
the himem.sys and emm386 files may not work cause they're dos 6???
Please advise- do I need smartdrive on the hdd or what?
TIA
