It's more than free, it's open source. :) Linux, and of the utilities
(programs), and most of the programs (like apache) are released under the
GPL, which gaurantees that they're free, and always will be. If you pay
for Linux, you're technically not paying for the OS, but for the support,
services, or other packaged commercial software.
