Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the cpu is overclocked. Its an intel pent 120, 
thats been oc'ed to 133. I upped the fsb speed from 60 to 66.
The mulitplier is still at 2x
the mobo manufacturer went out of business and I can not get either a mobo 
manual or bios upgrade.(well, its an award bios so I could pay unicore $60 
for one- but I could get another mobo for that price)

This WD did have some bad blocks on it that went away when I formatted with 
the /u switch.
I used DiskDruid rather than linux fdisk.
Now MS fdisk wont remove the partitons, I did use Disk Druid to *remove* 
those partitons but 98boot disk and Dos6.22 boot disk versions of fdisk still 
show em.
the wierd thing is MS fdisk says *cant remove an extended partition when a 
primary one exists* and *cant remove a Primary partition when an extended one 
exists*
