Well, as for ISDN and that 14.4, you shouldn't have any trouble using
them-- there's an entire howto dedicated to using ISDN, and linux loves
modems, as long as they're not "winmodems," which one should never use
anyway. :) With the cd-rom, you're pretty much out of luck if you can't
get that onboard sound card's controller supported. As for the printer, I
honestly haven't had any luck either-- the current linux printing system
sucks, quite frankl. It's based on the outdated Unix line printer system,
in which there wasn't even such a thing as a "printer driver." Most of
the time, you can get printers working just fine, but it takes a lot of
kludghing around, and it's not even worth it sometimes, if you've got a
windows machine with the printer networked anyway (you can print through
samba). Most HP's and Epsons are supported, as well as dozens printers
from other brands, but I couldn't even get an HP laserjet III to print, so
heh, good luck.. There are also windows-dependant printers, but they're
kinda rare. Look for the printer compatibility database, which you can
find from the printing howto.
