Re: [COMP] Linux installation choices

It's nice to hear of all these happy experiences. I am still trudging through
frutration: first I had slakware, then tried RedHat, now using the SuSE
distribution...because my CE-ROM is not recognized by Linux, I have to go
through
the ordeal of copying it onto the hardrive, then installing from HD...so now I
have a neat system with great window graphics, but it still doesn't drive the
printer, ISDN or ancient 14.4K modem...without those peripherals the OS is
pretty
useless to me. But I keep trying ... just can't afford a new CD-ROM and printer
to keep an OS happy. Even now I am coerced to booting back to Win95, and there
are times when the simplicity of DOS 6.0 looks pretty good...
