Personally, I think Aus. wins the "best of show" award for New Year 
celebrations.  New Yorks Times Square was a bit of a let down after watching 
the rest of the world to be honest.  I don't know of anyone that's had any 
problems so far, other than an occasional glitch here and there, I think this 
(Y2K) may be the biggest non-event of the millenium. :-)
