I've only just been able to check my email. Went out and didn't back back
until yesterday evening (January 2nd here now).

The 'millenium bug' didn't rear it's ugly head as I anticipated. I did get a
bit nervous when my cell phone didn't work (as well as everyone around me
which was about 10 phones) but at 1:45am they started working again. I have
no clue as to why they didn't work, but I suspect either Vodafone Australia
shutdown the network or it was overloaded with lots of people testing their
phone.

The Sydney fireworks were spectacular. Not sure if anyone else around the
globe seen them, but I seen them as I live in Sydney :). They went for 30
mins. Also watched other fireworks around the world as they were broadcast
on TCN 9 here in Sydney.
