RPM's a beast (I wish you hadn't chosen Redhat :)), but it's usually
something like rpm -i (read the manpage).

Try something from O'Reilly, if you're looking for a better book. That
machine would be sufficient for static web stuff, but with PHP and Mysql,
you'll be tearing your hair out after awhile-- database stuff is very
cpu and memory-intensive.
