[citw150] Lesson4-Question6

I have never used the telnet until this assignment.  I would have to say that 
I was a bit confused at first so, I did some research on telnet.  First I 
went to http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/T/Telnet.html to learn what the telnet 
was 
in depth and why it is used.  After that I went to a freelists site that was 
posted on yahoo to just browse the information.  The response on this site was 
useful when explaining how telnet works and why it is there.  This site can be 
found at http://www.freelists.org/archives/citw150/07-2004/msg00026.html.  To 
practice using the telnet I went to telnet://134.4.10.106 signed in as ted 
and looked around for a while.  I am somewhat familiar with a DOS set up from 
using it last semester so, I found it easy to get around in the system.  By 
using telnet I found that it is just another means of communication with 
computers 
although it is not as widely used as the Internet.
