I am still a bit lost on the whole telnet thing. I did find a site with a lot
of information on the subject but to be honest I really didn't understand alot
of it. I am assuming that is because it is not very common anymore. What I can
gather is that it is a way to connect to a network that you aren't actually
connected to, or rather a way to command a network that you are not directly
connected to.
the site I found Information at is
http://www2.rad.com/networks/1997/telnet/proj.htm .
I used the site on the assignment sheet to practice telnet://134.4.1ned0.106
. i managed to log in just fine but when i tried to use the ctrl-x command to
log out it wouldn't work. I tried to type Q, as it said to do to quit and that
didn't work either.
All I can say I learned is that the keyboard commands when using a telnet
connection don't work the same as it normally does.It seems to work like a code.
I'm glad it isn't something I have to use everyday.
