Telnet can be used for a variety of services. Databases, remote administration, and library catalogs seem to be the most prevalent use of Telnet today but there are still a variety of games available to. Here are a couple of sites for Telnet information. http://medlib.med.utah.edu/netbasics/ib695.html http://www.walthowe.com/navnet/faq/telnet.html The Telnet site that I tried was telnet <telnet://eldorado.elsewhere.org/> eldorado.elsewhere.org. This site has all the old Infocom games (Zork, Planitfall) as well as many more. The login is quit simple; you use "zork" for the login and just hit "enter" for the password. From there you get a menu of 40 games. I haven't played any of these games in ages and forgot how much fun they could be.
