First, I visited http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/T/Telnet.htm which gave me a
simple definition of Telnet. Basically, a Telnet session enables me to control
the server and communicate with other servers on the network.
Then I searched around online and found
http://www-personal.umich.edu/~cgaunt/gen_tel.html which is a web site that
offers different Telnet sites and their logins.
I went to IPAC telnet://134.4.10.106 first for some experimenting. I just
logged in as ned then logged out.
I also visited National Capital Freenet in Ottawa telnet.ncf.carleton.ca and
logged in as ?guest?. This telnet offered me free registration and usage. I did
not sign up but I searched around a little bit. I learned there were different
newsgroups, email, discussion boards. It was AWESOME! I had no idea what Telnet
would be like, but I liked it.
