I think personal privacy is a very important issue in today's world of technology. One of our basic rights is being systematically destroyed by companies that harvest and sell our personal information. Without checks and balances in this system and government involvement, I believe this will continue to grow into even a more serious issue then it is today. This is my personal information and I have given none of these companies the right to harvest, buy, or sell this information. It is even easier in this electronic age for this information to get into the wrong hands. The recent issue with Choice Point and Bank of America are just two of the most recent companies who had their information compromised. These companies could care less about the problems this creates for the average person and unless the government gets involved to rein these companies in, the problem will only get worse.
