I completely agree that the people of China are being kept out of whats
important. Unfortunately I dont seeing this change anytime soon and they will
have to suffer will this unless they all rise against the government about it.
Good post and thanks for the links.

chosen is Nationalism and Isolationism. Some countries have strict laws
pertaining to the internet. France for example has laws in place that extend
to the internet. France is working to modify laws concerning advertisements in
the French language. Iraq on the other hand was under very extreme laws when
Suddam Hussain was still in power. He banned the internet in the whole country.
China on the other hand allows the government to monitor e-mail and other
online activities. I think most governments monitor online activity to an
extent. They need to in order to convict people for stalking and illegally
downloading. I agree that government does need to monitor and convict people
of genuine internet crimes. These are crimes like child pornography and
stalking.
China however has gone to the extreme with monitoring and convicting people
who post sites or send e-mails concerning corruption and Human Rights issues.
The Internet filtering programs and laws are some of the most sophisticated in
the world according to an article concerning the Internet filtering in China
found at: http://www.opennetinitiative.net/studies/china/. They are abusing
their power to monitor e-mail and internet activity in order to cover
corruption and human rights problems in China. One example is the trial of
Huangq Qi. He was imprisoned for 5 years for posting information concerning
these issues in China. He is not alone there have been at least 54 more trials
and imprisonments similar to Huang Qi?s according to an article concerning
Microsoft providing the Filtering program used by China?s government:
http://www.ifex.org/en/content/view/full/56591/

I agree with all of the articles that I have found concerning China?s
filtering of e-mail and Internet usage. This is censoring of a country. The
people of China are being mislead because they are not allowed to read anything
pertaining to their government, that is not posted by the government itself.
