Ok, I agree with part of your comments but I go to the downtown Lansing library
a lot and their computers for patrons are usually full with people waiting.
Now to look at most of the people I would say they were low to mid range in the
income bracket. I am not saying they are using their time on the computers
wisely but they are getting experience and seeing there is more out there then
just Lansing.

understand there have been several programs for linking up Internet access and
donations of computers ti libraries for use by lower income households not
having access to these services in their homes. If the equipment is there but
there is no desire for using it because of not knowing how or what to use the
equipment for its not much use. When I graduated high school in the 80's I
graduated with 2 years clerical and accounting skills and never once was given
the opportunity to use a computer. In the 1990's everyone was getting
computers and then came the Internet. In the late 80's none of my college
courses required computer use, now after the new millennium every class I'm
enrolled in requires computer literacy. In my opinion the youth that are
graduating from high school have more of an advantage when using technology
because they use it everyday, compared to the workforce that graduated
years ago because we all need to be retrained when it comes to technology and
how it all works.
