Phishing - The act of sending an e-mail message that appears to come from a legitimate business or financial agency. The e-mail message lures the user into clicking a link, which takes you to a Web site where the scam artist prompts you to fill in personal information such as your social security number, credit card information, and bank account. The term Phishing is exactly what it sounds like scammers attempt to bait you with an e-mail the looks like it could be official or from a business that you use. A typical e-mail will ask you to click on a link to verify your information or update your information. When you click on the link in the e-mail it takes you to a web site that they have created to gather your personal information. Microsoft?s new Internet Explore 7 checks a web site for fishing.
