The following site http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/backdoor.miranda.htm l explains the Miranda virus. This was on the news a number of years ago (2002) and caused quite a bit of trouble. An ICQ paging function was used to hack into a computer and obtain passwords for email, instant messaging, amongst others. A "did you know fact" from the PC-Cillin anti-virus software a while back mentioned that the virus is named after a stripper in Florida whom the creator of the virus met. The person who made the virus was actually caught and it was one of the first major trials known to the public for a virus writer.
