Gas price hoax This scam tells people that they should buy gas only from certain gas stations that don't import their oil from the Middle East. This is supposedly to prevent price-gouging. The truth is, however, that only 31% of our oil comes from the Middle East and it is not possible to know which stations get their oil from the Middle East.
