[chadfree] Re: Motherboard doesn't recognise 40 GM HDD

Most motherboards of that era will have an 8.4GB limitation. If you
can't get a BIOS upgrade to solve the problem, you'll need to use a
drive overlay. Most of the harddrive makers offer the overlay on their
websites.

Either that, or get an IDE controller card and plug the drive into that.
Promise makes many versions of controller cards.

The Zida site appears to be broken, at least where Support is concerned,
so your best bet is to install the IDE controller.

What is the make and model of the machine?
