[chadfree] How to shrink a partition in Vista

How to shrink a partition and create unallocated space out of part of it. 
You can then create a new partition in that unallocated space. 
 
1/ Log on as an administrator. 
2/ In the Start menu, right click Computer and select Manage. 
    You'll have to click the Continue button to go on. 
3/ Expand the Storage node in the left pane of the Management 
    console and click Disk Management. It may take a few moments 
    for the disk information to load. 
4/ In the right pane, right click the one big partition that you want 
    to divide, and click Shrink Volume. 
5/ Enter the amount of space you want to shrink (in megabytes). 
    You'll be shown the total size of the partition after you shrink it. 
    Be sure to leave plenty of space for your OS and installing new
programs. 
6/ Click the Shrink button. Now you'll see the new unallocated 
    space in the right pane. 
7/ Right click the unallocated space and select 
    New Simple Volume. 
8/ Enter the size you want the new partition to be. Click Next. 
9/ Assign the new partition a drive letter. Click Next. 
10/ Give it a name (volume label). Click Next 
11/ Click Finish. 

Now you have two partitions where there was only one before. 
If you want to create more than one new partition out of the 
unallocated space, in step 8 select a size that's less than the 
total unallocated space and then repeat with the unallocated 
space that remains.
