I have a client i setup a dual 80 gig raid 1 array using windows dynamic
disks.(no controllers soft raid until we can get a hardware controller).
Winders crashed. We finally got the system reloaded after a
subsequent hard disk failure. We replaced the boot drive..now the
system in disk management says the disks are dynamic but have zero free
capacity(was only using maybe 5 gigs) and the partition type in unknown.
Please tell my worst fear is not true that winders when it died pulled
a win9x and corrupted the RAID 1 partitions.

If that is the case will reverting the drives back to dynamic save them?
(will be trying it tomorrow)

Also when the raid disks are connected to the system the system comes to
a grinding halt..really really really slow...

This is an Athlon xp 1800+ with 512 megs of ram that is only a
file/print server running 2k advanced server.

My "Foundation" verse:
Isa 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and
every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt
condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their
righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
