I will assume that it's Comcast's server that was too busy, got a failure 
and was too long before trying again, or Comcast are not following 
protocol, and simply don't retry failed messages (the RFC821 specification 
require that the server retries transmission of messages, but many services 
have started to turn that off to increase mail speed ... causing too much 
mail to not be delivered)...
