The knob locks on the observatories at the CAS headquarters location have been
changed. A key card is now required for access along with the key for the
deadbolt. If you have attended a refresher course for the scopes, your key
card is ready except in a few cases.
The next phase of the new system will be the changing of the deadbolt locks so
that the key that opens the headquarters building will open the observatory
deadbolts also. That phase will likely take place after the January meeting.
This will allow members to attend the Second Sunday session on January 14, or
the general meeting on January 19 to get keys and key cards so that they can
have access to their facilities. If there is enough interest, a special
session can be held on the First Friday, January 5. Contact the instrument
committee chair, Bruce Lott for details.
We thank you for your patience during this change over period.
