Ratings would be nice. I'm currently in a discussion with the Perl=20
modules-authors list about http://cpanratings.perl.org/.  Maybe something=20
will come out of that which would allow a wiki-like ratings site.

But, if you only rate projects, you miss the bulk of what I would like to=20
accomplish. I really want to see a collection of dead-and-alive projects a=
nd=20
I want that collection to contain an accurate status about whether the=20
projects are dead or alive.

Dead projects which were gpl only contain dead code if nobody adopts it. S=
o,=20
what I'm after is a sort of humane-society for this code, where it can look=
=20
up at you with those poor-little-puppydog-eyes and beg you to take it home=
=20
and nurture it.

So, maybe you have one site which just indexes the projects, one which rate=
s=20
them and allows users /developers to post reviews and calls-for-coders, yet=
=20
another which contains only archives of abandoned code, etc., etc. But, if=
=20
you can get them all to display a status (and make sure that the status is=
=20
correct), you provide the most important information: pulse.
