Me too. I used to work for a CAD/CAM company specialising in systems for 
schools and colleges (mostly UK, some elsewhere). Their systems are WIndows 
only (see www.techsoftuk.co.uk) but since I got interested in Linux and now 
use it pretty much exclusively I naturally have an interest in CAD. Not least 
because I'm now a freelance journalist writing on technical matters, and 
occasonal technical author who needs a CAD system. For simple engineering 
stuff I find VariCAD OK and for architectural work Cycas, but I'm only 
designing small gadgets and garden sheds!

BTW some Techsoft stuff works under WINE so if you are in the market for 
simple CAD for students it's worth a look, however the company and I are not 
on speaking terms these days so I'm not upto date with their latest products.
