[cad-linux] cad-linux still alive

for those wondering if this list is still working, it is.
I've been busy playing with wine and inllicad, myself.

i've not given up on the true Linux solutions for cad, but i just think that
intellicad is one that needs a good push in our direction.

i've asked that update notices for some of the main CAD applications be sent
to this list. for example Varicad is about to release their version 8.x for
Linux. It will have an improved GUI. the interface has always been my
biggest problem with it. it does 2D, 3D, solids, and all for a price that's
not bad. my biggest concern is that they will raise the price.

Qcad is still matureing. if you have not tried it do so. it's on most
distributions now days anyway.

i've been going back and trying to work with some of the old timer that i
started with. BRL-cad, Varkon, and GRASS. I've gotten farther than i have
in the past, but i still think that they are more difficult then they need to
be.

As always, i'm interested in hearing what others are doing.
