My dad's an Engineer; a metallurgist. He needed to do some CAD
drawings for the first time in years and tried to use his old
copy of AutoCAD LT. Since he hadn't used AutoCAD for a few years,
he was having a hard time with it. I told him that he should just
download QCAD and give it a try, for he's only making simple
drawings. He downloaded it, gave it a try, and liked it a lot!
He'll probably stop using AutoCAD LT and just use QCAD now.
They have a Windows version as well as a Linux version.

Soon my home 3D/CAD computer will be dual-boot Linux & W2K=20
(My Linux box, a laptop, is only fast enough for mail/web surfing).
When I get the stronger 3D/CAD computer running linux,
I'm going to try running AutoDesk Revit under wine.
I'll definitely post my findings to this list when have some.=20

Yes, Cycas lets you use POV-ray as a rendering plug-in. I've
never worked with it, just read about it on the website. :)
