[cad-linux] Varkon

I have played with Varkon off and on in the past and thought it was kind
of interesting. It never really held my ineterest, because I didn't
really know how to use it to it's fullest. It was fun playing with the
MBS language, but I didn't dig into it very deep.
I know that Varkon is really a framework for making CAD programs and can
be altered to do a lot of things.
Now, my question:
Is there anyone out there using Varkon to do serious work? Are there
any commercial companies that have used Varkon to make meaningful
CAD/CAM programs?
My interest is more toward the CAM side than anything. I am a
manufacturing engineer in a place that makes parts on CNC lathes and
mills. I like programs that give their users flexibility with
programming extensions (like Lisp in ACAD) and the choices involved with
altering the user interface. That's why I hold out hope for open source
CAD/CAM (along with the hope that Autocad doesn't buy everyone off and
put them out of business) .
Thanks,
Dan
