[cad-linux] User Survey

Catia Digital Digest has sends out a newsletter which lets users know what is
going on in the industry. it normally includes a User Survey and the results
from the previous survey.

why, you are wondering, am i rambling on about this?
here's the current question:

User Survey
Would you deploy CATIA on Linux workstations if they were available?

   Yes
   No

Survey questions run for two weeks. Look for results in issue 46!

The CATIA user survey question is a biweekly CDD feature. Results for this
two-week poll are intended to be anecdotal rather than scientific and should
not be interpreted to be representative of all Digital Digest readers.

a linux port is not new news. the first i read of it was in a linux journal
article that said that they had it but were waiting for demand to increase.

from time i have heard word from unoffical sources confirming that it was being
maintained, but no word of a release.

on IBM developer site they had an article showing a new (linux) clustering
tech' that combined the graphics acceleration of the different boxes. they
showed several examples of apps running on this cluster that ranged from
Quake(or doom i forget) to Catia. the clust was COOL, but to me(and several
others that picked up on it) Catia running on Intellistation/Linux was the real
news.

anyway, if you have any voice/influence in purchasing please make your voice
heard.
