[cad-linux] Re: Open-source Parametric software for Architect [OT]

Guy,

I don't really want to change accounting programs if I can avoid it. That
is a can of worms. As soon as I can I plan to set our current accounting
package up on a Linux box with Wine and see what happens. It may not be too
complex to sort this out.

I subscribed to this list to see what was around to replace AutoCad if it
doesn't get ported to Linux or cannot be made to work with Wine. This is a
thorny problem as we have about 5000 active drawings.

I am committed to scrapping MS software at the earliest practical moment.
Worst case we will run AutoCad LT using VM Ware This is not a real problem
since we have a limited number of CAD users. I suspect there will be a few
Windows aps that will take a while to replace.

Thanks.

David
