Thank you. This is exactly the kind of real-world feedback I'm looking =
for. And also the reason that I'm spending time seriously looking at all =
the options, rather than running over to sourcefourge to add one more =
dead project. :)
I just wish that Architects had more of a voice in the creation of the =
tools that they use, as well as more awareness of the tech issues at =
hand rather than just opening up there wallet again and again.
I disagree that Open Source projects only benefit open source space =
would benefit; I use open office and Mozilla right now on my Windows =
computer, and there is nothing stopping Microsoft from taking ideas =
(like tabbed browsing and refined cookie management) from it- they just =
can't take the code.

Granted. A very good point; however when a open source project fails =
anyone can take what they want from it. So If I, say, produce a better =
user interface for dealing with, say, 2D production drafting, someone =
else can use that part on there project later.
