What would be more useful:

1. a slow, longer-term project to create a open source AEC package?

2. a web page with forums and a blog that was focused on using open =
source software in the AEC industry?

I can try to do #1, but it will be years before anything solid comes =
around unless I drop everything and learn to be a software developer. I =
can do #2 right now, which may lead to a group of people forming that =
would then make #1. By creating a forum for computer-savvy Architects to =
talk about open source, computers, tools, and the like, I hope that it =
may not only answer many of the questions that I have about things but =
could serve as a source of information for others in the AEC community; =
as well as be a launching point for that big open source AEC package =
project.

This is my dilemma, so I wanted to talk to Architects that are already =
using open source, or are like me, converting things over, to see what =
they would want in a 'open-source for architects' web page or if it =
would even be a help.

Just trying to figure out where my time should go,
