[cad-linux] Re: OT: Open data formats (continuation of previous thread)

DWF and DesignXML (dXML for short) try to solve different problems.  DWF is 
best suited for project archival purposes (electronic plots), while dXML is an 
evolution of the ubiquitous DXF.  Like DXF, dXML can solve a wide variety of 
problems.  Unlike DXF, dDXL is easy to parse and support in 3rd party 
applications.
