[cad-linux] OT: Open data formats (continuation of previous thread)


So where does something like Autodesk's DWF format fit in this discussion of 
data retirement/availability?  DWF is well documented and easier to implement 
than DXF.  It is a printer-ready format, similar in concept to PDF, so it looks 
the same everywhere and can plot 1:1.  The software code to read and write DWF 
is also publicly available.  A quick search on google for "DWF Viewer" will 
bring up several implementations, including some in Java.
