True, so long as the barrier to entry has a short duration and spam can
be controlled.

Hehe. I don't think we would get running code any faster by using
twitter ;-)
But I have often wanted some form of push-based (not mail/rss)
notification mechanism for cvs/svn/git commit messages. If you want to
get developers talking more, give them an easier way to listen to each
others' code. Ohloh and github seem to be trying to do something like
this, but ohloh at least makes a fine mess of the whole thing.
