[cad-linux] Intellicad installation with Wine

Good News, sort of...

I have managed to install Intellicad on my laptop but have been unable
to repeat the operation on my Desktop machine.

The Laptop installation complained about the lack of iKernel.exe, so I
installed Dom98 from www.microsoft.com/com/resources/downloads.asp
(under wine). This may generated an error which says that a previous
version of DCom98 is installed. Without clicking the 'YES' button (which
closes the dialog and erases the temporary files) I copied the contents
of the folder 'IPX000.TMP' (should be in the wine Temp directory: see
your wine configuration) into the wine system directory.

On the Desktop machine, however, the Installer complains about not being
able to write to the directory wherein it would place the ikernel.exe
(c:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Engine\6\Intel 32) in spite
of the attributes of those Directories being chmodded to drwxrwxrwx.

However, If I copy the entire file system from the laptop to the
desktop, IntelliCAD works.

I hope this helps.

I am using IntelliCAD 2001, evaluation version v3.04 from CADopia

Wine is version 20031212 (unstable on Debian).
