Yes, it can import 3D data. To a certain degree. It cannot import 3d obje=
cts like surfaces and solids.
Only curves are imported. As a general rule, only supported element types=
 are imported.
No surface, no solids. Hatchings yes, but no hatch patterns.
And you need to be patient. The dxf module is _very_ slow. I might provid=
e a faster
implementation, once the existing code has proven to be stable and workin=
g.
Anyway, it might help to get started.
Btw., if you have any dxf files, which do not load properly, just drop me=
 a=20
note (and the file, if possible), so I can fix it.
