[cad-linux] Re: GraphiteOne errors on SuSE 9.1

Hi,

GraphiteOne is delivered as installable binary rpm packages. The reason for
this is the effort needed for a user to download and build all required 3rd
party libraries. Unfortunately, it has turned out, that nearly every Linux
distribution has somehow incompatible Python and Qt libraries. This makes it
for example impossible to run GraphiteOne SuSE9.0 packages on SuSE9.1 because
SuSE9.1 has a slightly different Python. This is most likeley the reason why
ProE for Linux is (was?) only for RedHat 7.2.
To address this problem, I have setup a source code package, which contains
all needed 3rd party libraries for GraphiteOne. This package will be released
together with GraphiteOne 1.3 in first quarter 2005.

Thomas Schmidt
