Blender Publisher
This month sees the release of the next stage of the Blender
evolution: Blender Publisher and the Blender 3D Plug-in.
Blender Publisher gives all the tools necessary to publish
real-time 3D content. It allows the user to lock, sign and compress
their Blender creations, it allows to create stand-alone
executables and grants the rights for licensed commercial
distribution.
The Blender 3D Plug-in allows easy interactive viewing of Blender
files in web-browsers, and is available as a free download.
Currently, Windows Explorer and Netscape versions were launched.
A Linux Netscape/Mozilla version will be ready this month as well.
Both these Blender products radically extend Blender's commercial
applications for the user, allowing anybody to create and market
his or her own interactive 3D creations.
Until November 1st 2001, Blender Publisher is available to you with
a USD 100 discount in our e-shop:

Launch of new web site
This month also sees the launch of another major Blender endeavor:
www.blender3d.com. This new site will concentrate on becoming an
active reference site for 3D real-time content and other Blender
work.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
The Blender Live Contest
This contest is designed to challenge you to think and produce
beyond the usual, utilizing the real-time 3D engine as a medium
for the delivery of content. The capabilities of the plug-in
allow for the use of 2D graphics and linear animations, but also
add potential in the use of interaction, physics simulation
and overall involvement.
The competition is divided into three categories:
* Banner Style & Web Design
* Real-Time Animation
* Product Presentation.

Release of Blender 2.22
Most of the work on the latest release concern a lot of bug-fixes,
especially in graphics compatibility (Matrox, Nvidia).
The new character animation system has cool new features as well.
Check the release notes here:

For the coming releases NaN will put focus on a tools overhaul in
Blender as well, especially on Mesh editing and import/export.
