ATTENTION BRL-CAD USERS:

The SURVIAC Aberdeen Satellite Office, operated by the SURVICE Engineering
Company, is making plans to host a multi-day BRL-CAD Users Group Meeting the
week of October 21-25, 2002, at SURVICE's corporate headquarters located near
Aberdeen Proving Ground in northeastern Maryland.

We anticipate that the meeting will include tutorial sessions
as well as opportunities for users and developers to make presentations on
the work they are conducting using BRL-CAD. The following topics have been
 identified for possible presentation/tutorial sessions:

 - New Features of the 6.0 Database Format
 - Conversion between BRL-CAD and Other Formats
 - Shading Objects for Signature Prediction
 - Colorization Tools
 - Porting to Windows
 - Introduction to MGED: Hands-On Training
 - Application Development with BRL-CAD: Hands-On Training
 - Advanced Modeling Tools and Techniques
 - Exploiting BRL-CAD 6.0 Features in MUVES/AJEM
 - User-Developer Open Forum
 - Attendee-Proposed Topics

You are also encouraged to specify any other BRL-CAD-related topics/issues
that you would like to have discussed. If you are interested in making a
presentation yourself, please include a short abstract (1 page or less) on
your proposed topic. Submissions will be reviewed and chosen based on overall
applicability and user interest, and all presenters will be notified by
September 1, 2002.

If you would like to attend the meeting, please send an
e-mail to Angela Torsani at <angela@xxxxxxxxxxx> by August 1, 2002, and
identify each presentation you would be interested in attending. Also
include any applicable abstracts. Currently, it is envisioned that the
meeting will be free of charge. However, depending upon the level of
participation, a nominal fee may be added to cover refreshments.

When the final agenda is set, the schedule of events, driving
directions, and other pertinent information will be posted to the
cad@xxxxxxxxxxxx mailing list. In the mean time, questions regarding the
meeting should be directed to Angela Torsani via the aforementioned e-mail or
410-273-7722.
